Golden has a long history of volunteer-driven initiatives that have helped shape many of the amenities enjoyed by both residents and visitors. From the pedestrian bridge built by volunteers to the extensive trail networks, many non-profit organizations, especially those supporting outdoor recreation such as hiking, Nordic skiing, and snowmobiling, continue to rely on committed volunteers to manage trails and deliver essential services.
